W7 Drifty Sail
We made the best of the period of incredibly unseasonal weather. It was a real drifter so it was handy to have the outboard in the Wanderer. Heather went out in the Solo, and Mary tried out her new shorts!
It really was very still. We got as far as Watch-house Bay and had a look at the sea.
We slowly drifted back to the cut ready to go home when I spotted a patch of wind so we had a bit of real saling (not a lot though!)

W6 A quick thrash to Watch-House Creek
We thought it was going to be a drifter today and even got the spinnaker ready for its first outing, but...
It was quite windy and gusty. Although we just about managed with three up under full sail it was a bit uncomfortable in the gusts and it would have been a long, probably wet, beat to the point which was the originl plan.
So we returned to the cut, took down the sails and then motored to watch-house creek for a coffee and a look at the sea.

To Cley Channel in Jav
Rik and I dodged the rain and had a short and sharp sail in the Jav. The wind was S 3-4 gusting 5 so we had fun reaching out towards the point and then back to the Cley Channel where the 'fun' crowd had parked. We made an impressive approach with Rik on the trapeze with shouts of "Don't sell it Bill!" from the shore.
We set off after most of the others and had a good fast reach all the way to Buoy 7 then reached back and had a furious beat up the cut.

Breakfast on the point
Mary made some bacon butties and we took a flask to the point in Zephyr for breakfast!
There we met David and Eleanor 'White GP' and the Commodore's missus. D&E had the full kit: stove, bacon, eggas, bread & marmalade (no toaster) and orange juice!
On the way back we saw loads of terns at the head of the cut.

First Solo sail of the season
I had a fairly gentle evening sail.
Rather late in the year, but this was my first sail in the Solo this season.
The wind was a gentle NNE so it was easy going to the Pit and a decent tack home.
